We have a Language Arts Series by McGraw-Hill titled Reading-Wonders!

The reading program will work to help students build comprehension skills using both narrative and informational text. It will encompass a combination of work from a hard covered anthology and follow-up worksheets, Reading/Writing Workshop, along with reading novels and short stories. There will be guided reading groups, as well as whole group work.

Students will sometimes receive IXL assignments in Language Arts. These assignments will be a homework grade in PowerSchool.

Writer's Workshop
We will use the 6 + 1 Traits of Writing by Ruth Culham to help students increase their writing skills. We will focus on the six traits of writing (Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions). Students will be able to understand and use the five step writing process (Brainstorming, Drafting, Revising, Editing, Publishing).
